Westwinds Kids’ Journey is just one component of your child’s faith journey. The home is actually where much of your child’s spiritual attitudes will be formed. That is why the Journey team works to partner with adults in the home so that you can nurture your kids’ spiritual life. Each month pick up a copy of WWKids’ Journal – continuing the journey at home
A Generous Heart - It’s for Everyone
Each week in the Kids Journey classes and studios kids have the opportunity to give an offering to God. Teaching our kids to have a thankful heart and be generous is an on-going lesson that involves all of us at the church. If your kids receive an allowance, talk about sharing the blessings and resources that God gives to them. Let them decide how much they want to give in the offering. Or you may choose to give your kids .50 or a $1.00 to put in the kids’ offering. Whatever you decide works for your family, take the opportunity to talk about all the things you are thankful for and begin to nurture a generous heart in your kids.Â
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:Â
What class or studio do my kids go to?
WW Kids Journey has six age groups: infant/toddlers, preschool kids, kindergarten, first & second graders, third & fourth graders, and fifth and sixth graders.    Nursery/toddlers: for infants through toddlers
Preschool: for kids who are 3 years old by the end of October
K-6 Experience Studios: for kids in kindergarten through sixth gradeWhen do kids move into new classes?
At the beginning of each new school year, kids are moved up according to their age and grade in the local school systems. Children who turn three years old after October 30 will remain in the toddler class until the early September move-up.ÂCan my toddler go with his older preschool sister?Â
We are not able to accommodate those requests since each class area is stffed for a speicific teacher/child ratio. Also classroom curriculum is prepared to be age appropriate for the specific age range. If you have quetions about this policy, please contact Lori Tate at 517 750 1111, x 14 or lori.tate@westwinds.org.ÂWhat is a K6 Experience Studio?Â
Each weekend at Westwinds, kids experience The Story of God in four different hands-on classrooms called the K6 Experience Studios. These distinct multi-learning environments engage the kids through their heart, mind, body, and soul. Over the course of four weeks the various peer groups "live in'" one Biblcal narrative through art, music & motion, discovery and storytelling. How do you know which K6 Experience Studio my kids are in?Â
The K6 Experience Studios rotation order varies from quarter to quarter. We made this change based on our kids' input. Some of them were missing out on certain studios, due to their family schedules. Changing up the rotation order will hopefull enable all the kids to experience each studio, even if it's not the same month. Each week as you check in you'll see which studios your K6 kids will be in.Call me if you have any questions.
