The contemporary design of our building elicits quite a few comments. We felt the effective church holds on to the historic Christian faith (the ancient) and recasts it in the idiom and language of the emerging culture (the future).

How does a facility capture in space design a mission that is ancient/future? These were guiding questions that launched the design phase of Westwinds Community Church. How do you design a facility in the tradition of great cathedralesque spaces that capture a sense of movement, majesty, symbolic imagery, and journey, but simultaneously recasts the ancient an idiom appropriate to the current culture and future. The facility reflects our fourth core value of creativity and excellence in cultural context. The design is cutting edge, question provoking, grandeur inspiring, and fresh.

We wanted our mission as a church, "to lead everyone to full life development in Christ," to be reflected in the building design. The building illustrates this journey.
