U.S. Americans love war imagery. True, we don’t all love war, but even our anti-war protests use combative language and often turn violent themselves. St. Paul recognizes that war will likely be at the forefront of international consciousness in the future, and so uses the metaphor of warfare todescribe the spiritual context between good and evil that rages inside of every person.
